Okay so we're busted... we started this in December but who cares right?!
First timer! So what to say on your first blog.... of course it's never easy to say something clever off of the top of your head so here goes:
We love to travel.... currently looking for a good place to go next year that we haven't been to. Our most recent vacation was to the wine country of California. We've been there twice now and have so much fun! Thank you to Skybus for allowing us a cheap flight out there for only $20! Yes, only $20. We love going to wine tastings and seeing the sights. We are total tourists... camera, maps, water bottles, you name it. It makes life interesting. Our dream is to visit Italy one day. We would go in an instant if it wasn't so expensive and we'd like to make it worth our while and stay for a couple/few weeks(save that vacation!). But one day we will get there! We've been to Europe once. We actually got engaged in Paris... so romantic. :) It was the best trip ever!
We have been very fortunate to take one big vacation a year. This past year we went to Jamaica to celebrate our 5th year anniversary! We stayed at a Sandals all inclusive resort. It's definitely the way to go. No worries, no tipping, no pressure! We ate, we drank, we just chilled. Okay we did go on a zipline tour which was incredible!! So much fun! We were flying through the jungle hundreds of feet from the ground only to land on a little platform with 15 other people! scary!
Matt was SO brave! I was scared out of my mind! But I'm glad we did it and would do it again in a heartbeat.
In other news we just celebrated New Year's with some very special friends. Here's a picture of some of the fun. :)
We opted to go all out this year so we got all dressed up, paid for some high-dollar tickets to cover drinks, food, and entertainment... then danced the night away. As far as resolutions... Matt brought up one today that I kinda liked - Having one or two vegetarian days a week. We've also been really environmentally conscious lately. We bought special reusable shopping bags to use for groceries and whatnot. We've also been recycling aluminum, plastic, and glass for the past several months and have cut our trash output by more than half! I'm so impressed at what a difference it makes! (Thanks to Matt of course... his idea!)
So that's a good start right? I could write forever but I'm sure I'll need some kind of topic starter later!
